I finally finished my journal!!

Thanks everyone for being so supportive of Sarah with the Live Below the Line Project. She did really well, although for me watching her go without was really hard. I felt really guilty eating normally while she lived on bread, jam and apples for the week. It was all worth it, though and she exceeded her target. Good on your Sarah!!!

Live Below The Line and WIP

Live Below the Line is part of the Oaktree Foundation. It is all about creating an awareness about living below the poverty line. Each participant lives on $2 a day- approx $1.25 in American dollars for about 5 days. The participants choose to fundraise for a specific cause and my daughter, Sarah, has chosen to raise money to provide training for a teacher in Cambodia for a year. Her target is $200.00. Gothic Arch -Hats

 

This Gothic Arch was really hard to get together and it may yet change. It has been sitting on my desk for about a week! It has a cuttle bug background and a domino embellishment with a little arch border. This stamp is a bit weird as one of the people looks like my grandmother who passed away when I was three. I have had this stamp for a really long time and never really used it as it isn't the sort of stamp I would normally buy. When I saw the image, I knew I had to get it. I though it be one of those things where after a while, you think-what what I thinking? This looks nothing like..whoever..But every time I look at it, the feeling gets stronger. Weird!!

I had a wonderful time at the Kimberley Writers Festival  today and yesterday. I was able to participate in a workshop by Marlish Glorie and I was able to attend lectures by Susan Moylan Coombes, Kia Dowell and Hetty Velrolme. Andy Wright was fantastic, too, as he is a professional storyteller. Michael Salmon gave a great lecture about capturing the audience's attention. Although it was a very full weekend with a wonderful family concert last night with Wyndham group, Northern Hum, Peter Brandy and Neil Murray, I feel inspired to continue to write. I truly feel so lucky to live where I do.

Gothic Arch Challenge-Hands

This is the 4th Gothic Arch Challenge by Inkurable Stampers.The background of this arch is created with the Cuttlebug paisley embossing folder, but I bought the hand stamp ages ago and can't remember who it is by.

Gothic Arch Challenge- Crown

This is the 3rd Gothic Arch completed for the Inkurable Stampers Challenge. I used a stamp by Zettiology, but unfortunately, I can't remember who the arch stamp is by (Ibought it a while back...). I used the Morrocan punch to create the border.

Gothic Arch Challenge-Lace

This is my 2nd Gothic Arch using the theme of lace. I used a Hambly acetate sheet as the background and a stamp I bought a long time ago- I think it is a Judikins brand?

Inkurable Stampers Gothic Arch Challenge-Butterfly

I decided to join the Gothic Arch Challenge!!! Sarah Schwerin inspired me with her beautiful art. Thanks so much for motivating me, Sarah!!!
This arch was stamped with a Bombshell Stamp and placed over an embossed background-a Tim Holtz Sizzix folder. I added a couple of butterflies from Julie Van Oosten's Collections and punched a lacy border with a Martha Stewart punch.

I just received my cuttlebug embossing folder from Scrapboutique. This store is so quick and efficient. You don't have to wait ages and ages to receive your items. All items are very reasonably priced.  Love it. My new stamp is from Stampitcrazy another super shop, very quick to post out your items. I found this stamp through a beautiful blog by Blackdragon. The art on this site is just gorgeous.
