I've been tagged and ATCs

Microscope/ Webbing

Webbing/Cuttlebug

Jeanette Janson , http://jeanettejanson.typepad.com/, tagged me today!
Here are six things about me.

1. My husband and I have known each other since we were children. We lived on the same street and attended the same high school. We have been together since the end of our last year at school.

2. When I was fourteen I was really into Culture Club and I won a trip to Sydney to see them play at the Entertainment Centre. The whole experience was very exciting, at the time.

3. I have three tattoos. My eyes are tattooed too.

4. My hair is so grey I have to dye it all the time and it grows really quickly.

5. I've had my gall bladder removed.

6. Watches always stop when I wear them.

Here are the rules:

1. link to the person that tagged you - 2. post the rules on your blog - 3. share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself - 4. tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs - 5. let each person know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their site.

New Journal- I was inspired...

I made a spine braid journal today.

Have you seen the new faux metal ATC on Kelsey's blog? It's stunning. I was inspired. I had no metal tape so I used a diet coke can to create an image. I followed the instructions and it turned out okay. I put it in the cuttlebug and embossed it. I was not only inspired by the beautiful metal ATC, but also by the lovely photos on Vivian's blog of her trip to Thailand. Hence the stamping goddess. Thanks for looking.

Art Shrine

Here is an art shrine I made today while we had a yellow alert on. Thanks to everyone for sending their best wishes to us. We are all okay.

Detail
Work in progress. I'm not sure what it's going to turn into yet.
I used a piece of gauze type fabric in turquoise/aqua tones shot with gold to back the microscope slides. Kelsey O'Mullane generously gave me this lovely material when I attended one of her ATC classes at Scraptivate. This shop is absolutley jam packed with the most beautiful items. It is full of lovely samples to inspire you as well. There are some fabulous classes coming up at Scraptivate and I feel very jealous of all you guys who can attend in Perth.

Cyclone Nicholas

New folder!

*****Update****
The cyclone is still category three and we are on yellow alert. It looks like it may swing away- hopefully!!!

The town is now on blue alert and may go to yellow alert this afternoon. We've been tracking the cyclone on http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDW60285.shtml
and it may hit this evening or tomorrow. It's hard to tell- it may swing away- I'm hoping!
We all watched a short doco called Cyclone Alley which was all about cyclone Vance which hit Exmouth and Onslow. A second cyclone, Elaine, affected Moora with dreadful flooding in 1999. Cylcone Vance was category 5 and much stronger than cyclone Tracy which devasted Darwin in1974 . The documentary showed some great tips on what to do before the cyclone.
Cyclone Nicholas is category 3 at the moment.

Green Mud Crab and Blue Alert

We are now on Blue Alert for cylcone Nicholas.

New ATCs for the carousel.
Today I received my order from Scrapapple and I was delighted with the prompt service and not only that- it came with a free pile of the most beautiful patterned papers. Thanks Scrapapple!

Here is the Dolly with her first mud crab!
