I made another figure today. This one is about John, my husband. I can't even begin to express in words how I feel about him.

Mistress of Fishes

This is my new piece. It has a lot to do with my children loving the water and fishing. I used some jewellery techniques to create the belt and neck piece. The shells are courtesy of the Dolly.

New Piece

I made this piece using some odd objects such as an old fishing reel, wire, tin, Cuttlebug diecuts and some texture paste. The figure is one of those human body dolls that come with the `insides' available from the Artist's Nook.

For me, this piece is about life and the elements of earth, air, fire and water.

The Tip!

I went to the tip today and found a few little bits and pieces. These things should give me some inspiration.

New Shrine
I received this beautiful canister full of Lindt eggs, bunnies and chocs from one of the lovely kids in my class. After eating the delightful treats inside, which were delicious (thank you), I made a little shrine. It's called Empress.

The `body' was made of a most annoying bell I used to ring to remind children about the noise level.

Insomnia- Wheel of Fortune

This piece is called Insomnia. I don’t normally name things nor do I normally give much explanation to items I make. This piece has a bit to do with Stephen King’s book, Insomnia. I do have insomnia and I’m not sure if it is because I don’t want the day to end, it is because I haven’t done everything I wanted to do, or exactly the main reason for this state.Anyway, this piece has the Wheel Of Fortune and the three beings that control it. I used da Vinci images because I just love them.
Clothos is the weaver and is young. Sorry about the reflection.
Lachesis is the measurer and is usually middle aged.
Atropos is the cutter and is usually elderly.

This wheel signifies changes in fortune and in life.

The darker areas represent the areas of accidental wax contact. Whoops!

Soot Technique Smoosh

I have been experimenting with the Smoosh and Soot techniques. You can read all about these fab techniques on Kelsey's blog.

With the soot technique I did not have any gloss papers-they have been put in a very safe place, so safe I can't find them!I used some card instead and fixed it with some hair spray.

I have not sprayed the Smoosh papers with webbing spray as yet, but that's the next step. Thanks for stopping by.

Dad

On a more personal note, my Dad completed his last radiotherapy session today. It's a great relief for everyone to have gotten this far. Anyone who has had a loved one go through something like this will know all about, the uncertainty, the dramas and in general, the huge emotional stress.
My father's brother, Malcolm, has been such a great help to my Mum, by taking my Dad to his daily radiotherapy sessions and chemotherapy sessions too. My Mum has been working as well as looking after my Dad.
I wish I could have been physically there for you, to help, but instead I'm with you in my thoughts and my best wishes.
I love you Mum and Dad.
